Acceptable Use

Content & Conduct

You must not use, or encourage anyone else to use, the Platform to:
  • Upload, generate or share any content or engage in any behaviour or activity that is in any way unlawful or illegal or that does not otherwise comply with these terms.
  • Abuse, bully, insult, intimidate, harass, threaten or humiliate any person.
  • Incite hatred or discriminate against a person or group based on age, disability, gender reassignment status, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity status, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.
  • Disclose confidential, personal or sensitive information about yourself or another person or make attempts to solicit information of that nature from anyone.
  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person.
  • Encourage or promote violence, self-injury, suicide, eating disorders or drug use.
  • Advertise or promote your or any third-party services or to send any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material.
  • Transmit viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware or any other harmful programs or malicious code, or in any way which is designed to copy, adapt, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or modify the whole or any part of the Platform.

You must not create, upload or share any User Content which is, or does, the following:
  • Illegal, offensive or harmful. This includes anything which encourages crime, breaches a court order or puts children at risk, or which is, or may be construed as, defamatory, a misuse of private information, discriminatory, abusive, threatening, intimidating, harassing, profane, obscene or sexually explicit.
  • Infringes any other person’s rights. This includes their intellectual property rights, such as their copyright, and any right of privacy to which they are entitled.
  • Misleading or inaccurate. User Content should be accurate (where it states facts) and be relevant to the context in which it is submitted. Cite and link to all sources when you can. Never plagiarise or claim authorship of something that is not yours.
  • AI generated. Any creative content should be the result of your own skill, judgment and individual effort (i.e. your own creative effort and not the product of a machine).

You should always act thoughtfully, respectfully and sensitively when using the Platform. 
  • Do not make inappropriate or insensitive jokes or personally insult or attack others.
  • Respect other people’s privacy and boundaries.
  • Be sensitive about topics that may not matter to you but may be very important to others.
  • Promote debate and share ideas in ways which help to create an inclusive atmosphere.

Illegal Content

To protect you from illegal content, we minimise the length of time for which any terrorism content, child sexual exploitation and abuse content or other content that amounts to an offence is present on the Platform.

We do this by monitoring the Platform and swiftly taking down any such content when we find or are made aware of it.

“Other content that amounts to an offence” is content relating to assisting suicide, threats to kill, public order offences, harassment, stalking and fear or provocation of violence, drugs and psychoactive substances, firearms and other weapons, assisting illegal immigration, human trafficking, sexual exploitation, sexual images, proceeds of crime, fraud, financial services, foreign interference, animal welfare and offences relating to being involved in committing any of these offences (known as inchoate offences).

Complaints & Reporting Content

You can report or complain about the following content and behaviours which take place on the Platform:
  • Content you consider to be illegal or otherwise in breach of these terms.
  • When you think we are not dealing with illegal content or activity as we should.
  • Where you think our content reporting systems and processes do not easily let users report content they believe to be illegal.
  • When you think we have insufficiently considered the importance of protecting users' rights to freedom of expression or privacy.
  • Where your content has been taken down on the basis that it is illegal.
  • Where we have given you a warning, suspended, banned or restricted you in any way as a result of your content which we consider to be illegal content.
  • Technology we use results in your content being taken down, access-restricted or deprioritised and you think the technology has been used in a way not set out in our Service Terms.

You can do this by emailing us at support@pageone.co. You should include details about the content or behaviours you wish to complain about or report. You can do this anonymously.

Once we have received this information, we will review the content or behaviour and take appropriate action. This may include removing the content from the Platform or suspending or terminating an individual’s access to the Platform, including on a temporary basis while we investigate. Depending on the severity of the matter, individuals may have the chance to discuss the issue with us to state their side of the matter, before we take any action.
